HEGSETH IN TAMPA SPECIAL COVERAGE
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited CENTCOM at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida on March 5, 2026 to provide updates on military operations in Iran. 10 Tampa Bay News went on the air at 4:30 p.m. for a special 30-minute steam of breaking news coverage focused on the press conference, as well as severe weather that was moving across the Tampa Bay area, bringing lightning, hail and strong winds to local communities.
WEATHER IMPACT LIVE WITH DR. RICK KNABB
In addition to the two weather shows I produce daily at 11:30am and 4:30pm, each Tuesday during hurricane season features a special 4:30pm Weather Impact LIVE show with The Weather Channel's tropical expert, Rick Knabb, Ph.D. These shows are done out of WTSP but also feature a WTLV (Jacksonville) meteorologist in addition to Knabb. These shows require proper communication to coordinate the live
shots, IFB lines, graphics, etc...
THE ULTIMATE FLORIDA SPORTS SHOW
I produced a weekly sports show that highlights the biggest stories, mostly from Florida's sports teams with some national headlines when appropriate. WTSP and WTLV sports anchors are featured. The show is put together across two different ENPS rundowns, directed from WTLV and produced/boothed from WTSP, so it requires attention to detail, organization and communication to make sure everything is consistent and runs smoothly.
THANKSGIVING TRAVEL RUSH SPECIAL COVERAGE
A special 4pm hour-long streaming show specifically covering the Thanksgiving travel rush on the day before the holiday. The show featured in-depth weather forecasts, live reporters at the airport and at rest stops along busy highways. It included the latest information on both local and nationwide travel happenings, and made sure to include breaking news that was developing at the time after national guard members were shot in DC.
2025 SPORTS YEAR ENDER
A half-hour long special marking the end of 2025 in sports. I worked with our two sports anchors to identify segments that would fit into each block, the content that would fit into each segment and how to distribute it. Local headlines within sports teams as well as the sports industry within Tampa Bay dominated the special. The year-ender aired first on broadcast and then on WTSP's OTT streaming platform.

VERIFY-SPECIFIC MOBILE SHORTS
Many VERIFY stories deal with claims that originate on online platforms. In some cases, those claims are gaining traction fast. These cases create opportunities to edit those stories specifically for social media, with the idea that users can share the content and help stop the spread of misinformation. These examples highlight those situations where we take a piece that has already been edited for horizontal broadcast video, and re-edit them for vertical video.

VERIFY
BROADCAST PACKAGES
and
STREAMING EPISODES
As the VERIFY producer at 10 Tampa Bay, part of the regular workload includes creating packages for newscasts. Weaved into that workload is creating long-form episodes for the station's streaming platform. The pieces include stories we've aired on broadcast, but are reworked to create a seamless, roughly 10-minute long, video friendly to streaming and YouTube.
LONG-FORM VIDEO
I worked on a story looking to debunk common myths about lovebugs. I pitched this story when the season came around in Florida and lovebugs were seen all over the place. I turned a web story, package for shows and a longer video for streaming an YouTube containing my interview with an expert.
UNIVERSITY PROJECTS
NEWS PACKAGE
For this piece, Parisa interviewed two D.C. community leaders about the city's plan for future land use in Ward 5. She conducted research about industrial land use in the area and took B-roll footage of Ward 5 using a Sony a7iii. Following filming, Parisa wrote a script, recorded a voice over and edited the package using Adobe Premiere Pro.
SHORT DOCUMENTARY
In this short film, Parisa approached the topic of women's representation in office. She interviewed two women about why the push for more women in government is more necessary than we think.
D.C. Councilmember Lewis-George recalls being part of an all-female majority for the first time in over a decade. This film was written, shot and edited by Parisa with original animations made in After Effects.
SLIDESHOW FILM
Parisa created a photo slideshow about a group of friends who like to draw in their free time. She shot the photos using an iPhone and edited the reel together using Premiere Pro. With Adobe Illustrator, she animated original illustrations and graphics
throughout the piece.
NEWS PACKAGE
Parisa worked on a team to create a news package about the impact of COVID-19 on the drag community in Washington, DC. Their teammates shot the footage in the field and recorded a voice over, and Parisa served as the editor for the project. She also finalized the script for broadcast.
SHORT FILM
This is a project Parisa created in her free time, featuring her younger cousin Oona. She first filmed Oona painting then recorded a conversation they had after. This piece was made in iMovie in 2019, and shot on an iPhone.
PODCAST
This 6-minute podcast covers a lawsuit in Northern Virginia, filed by a teacher against the school district. The dispute was over a policy requiring transgender students to be addressed by the gender they identify as.
